Echo patishes

It is quite common that on Saturdays fruit and veggies sellers go around the city slowly slowly and shout through loudspeakers fitted on their cars ' Echo patishes, echo angurakia!' Which is a very village way of saying I have watermelons and cucumbers. They stop every now and then so that people can come outside their houses and buy stuff. One of them often stops under my window. I thought that this kind of trade is non existent anymore ...
